2010-2011 Room Parent Letter

Community events give everyone a chance to participate.

Throughout the year, we hold a series of events that showcase our school spirit. Our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) supports many aspects of these events and is a great asset to our school.

  • Ice Cream Social
  • Winter & Spring Musicals
  • Middle School Seasonal Dances
  • Science Fair
  • Art Show & Auction
  • Math-a-thon
  • Red Ribbon Week

How Your Can Get Involved

Volunteerism is one of the most integral components of a successful relationship between a family and their school of choice. Studies have shown that children, whose parents regularly participate in their child's school community, achieve a higher level of satisfaction and academic success than those whose parents do not. A parent’s regular attendance in their child’s school gives concrete proof to the children that education is indeed one of their families highest priorities.

Volunteering allows parents to develop deeper relationships between themselves and their children’s teachers and administrators. Whether you choose to volunteer weekly or once a year, there is an opportunity for every single parent to volunteer.

About THRS PTO

THRS Partners is a volunteer organization consisting of THRS parents, teachers and staff.  The purpose of this organization is to seek, cultivate and obtain revenues to be used for developing and expanding educational opportunities for children who attend The Honor Roll School.

In 2006, THRS Partners used fundraising revenues to complete many projects on campus.  Three overhead projections systems have been installed to allow for large group instruction.  The campus library has undergone expansion over the summer to increase shelving and storage to allow for larger book inventory for our many avid readers.  In conjunction with Nobel Learning Communities, a "NEW" gymnasium floor will be ready for the new school year.

THRS Partners commissioned Guillermo Blanco to capture the ECP experience in a fantastic mural in the ECP Lobby.  If you would be interested in joining this organization, please contact Lisa Prentiss at lisa.prentiss@nlcinc.com.  Plans for the 2010-2011 school year are already underway!
